With their album "Mercenary", Bolt Thrower raised the bar damned high. However, although frontman Karl Willtes was replaced on "Honour - Valour - Pride" by Benedicitons Dave Ingram, the British guys managed to deliver another Death Metal masterpiece at the highest stage.

After the breathtaking and all Death Metal fans enthusing predecessor, one could only hope that the new album would at least become a worthy copy. And now this! "Honour Valor Pride" is not taking up where "Mercenary" left off. The band gives a damn about all wishes and prognoses and reduces the speed heavily. Is that a problem? No! in my opinion, this album's just great, you just mustn't compare it. If you can follow the measures also in slower directives, has to order this album! Death Metal cannot die as long as there is Bolt Thrower. Packed into the typical dull sound, the band presents shells that should delight the fans of good, handmade and grunted music. "Inside The Wire" won't let you go with it's great guitar riffs. This song is gonna swear all fans together to one unity again. The proof that not every band has to go new ways to make great music. Honour! Valor! Pride! Buy it!

Different singer, same quality

Different singer, same quality indeed. This is a band that has shown consistency with each album. Although Dave Ingram of Benediction fame joined forces with Bolt Thrower on this album and spiced it up with a deeper voice compared to mr. Karl Willets, the formula has not changed at all. You still get the typical powerful and groovy death metal you are used to destroy your ears with. Many see this album as a grey spot in the band's career, but I can assure you it is not.
Nicely packed in a classic jewel case, the booklet contains all the lyrics, band's pictures and overall it emanates a dark feeling.
You should surely get this album and give it a try, specially for such a good price here at EMP! You will not be disappointed if you like good death metal!
