Now, in all honesty, this isn't the fastest or heaviest thrash album on the market today. But that's in no way a bad thing. With Violent Revolution, Kreator have displayed some of the best songwriting I've heard from the thrash scene in a long while. They have found what is quite possibly the perfect combination of speed, aggression, heaviness and melody. The number of great riffs on this album is enough to make just about any other metal band turn green with envy. The arrangements are terrific, and the production is flawless.

This album is back to the aggressive hard driving thrash metal Kreator was known for but with a little more maturity. Although this is unadulterated, kick your teeth in thrash metal they have not completely ignored the technicality and melody they picked up through albums like "Coma of Souls" and "Outcast". I am not saying this is another album in the same vein since this reminds me more of their first three albums than their latter three but if you were to take the best elements of all their albums and put them into one album this would be it. In my humble opinion this is the best Kreator album I have ever had the good fortune of listening to. Everything about this album is absolutely top notch from the excellent riffs to the killer leads. Add to this some of the best songs they have ever written and I can honestly say this is a thrash metal masterpiece and an instant classic.

Back to Thrash

While the original pressing from 2001 commands quite a fortune prices around 100 Euros and higher, this current reissue couldn't be better timed and presented indeed. Especially being the original label reissue with the original artwork, pressed on high quality and simply amazingly looking dark red vinyl. So, nothing more to ask from the subject release, but what about music it contains? Nothing to complain either, first class Thrash KREATOR style. Evidently a bit more melodic than their previous endeavors, although not as melodic as its great in its own way predecessor "Endorama", of course, but still slightly different to their 90s and especially 80s LPs. Anyway, another great KREATOR album back on vinyl.

Kreator - Violent Revolution 2LP

Red 2LP version. Sound is great. From begining to the end. No any background noises. Greatest release. I'm in hope what some old Kreator albums (1995-2000 era) will be re-released too.

Hell on earth, finally the gates are open!

"Violent Revolution", was released on September 25 marks another turning point in the career of Kreator. This time they decided to return to his roots. Yes, this is not the fastest and heaviest thrash album. But who said it was bad? After all, on this album Mille Petrozza and his team found the perfect combination of speed, aggression, heaviness and melody. Due to this and were able to regain the throne of the main German thrash unit. No wonder the first song of the album is called: "Reconquering The Throne". No less symbolic title "Second Awakening": now the time has come, finally born again, we stand together - the second awakening! Many fans will surely hold parallel with the awakening of the group after the experimental period. "Violent Revolution", a sort of battle cry for the new millennium, when "our only hope, our only salvation - violent revolution." There is also an absolute fortunes album include philosophical "Servant in Heaven - King in Hell" that someone is born to win, and someone - lose, and only time will tell what fate awaits each of us. About souls confused gatherings mutants trapped in drugs in the twilight suburb, says rapid "Ghetto War", turning into perhaps the most spectacular song on the album, a 7-minute "Replicas of Life", narrating about the final destruction of life in the general chaos - hell on earth, finally the gates are open!
