Metallica is back! "Hardwired... to self-destruct" is the first studio-album since 2008's "Death magnetic". The band is on full-throttle again and the first single "Hardwired" is the best proof of that.

Self-destruct, which started many years ago, is going on

Some call it "the album of the year". Some call it "the disappointment of the year". It depends on who is expressing his/her opinion and how honest it really is. For the simple fan, not obliged with anything, its the latter which is more common, I'm afraid. Its usually just a matter of giving some sort of positive reaction to either the first and the last tracks of the album, or adding "Atlas, Rise!" to that short list as well. But as for the rest, what's in between those tracks, the opinion is almost the same – nothing worth a listen, its that simple. Avoid. Play "Ride The Lightning" for the 1000th time instead.

"Men han har jo ikke noget paa"

So, what all the fuss, created by big (and well-paid for that, remember) media is really about? Is it really what all the Heavy Metal world was waiting for years? Come on, don't let yourselves be fooled, just listen to this "masterpiece and so on" and try to figure out what is really so great in this album. I tried, honestly, but failed to find anything worth banging my head to. A couple of more or less decent tracks don't make this anything but another dull and pointless endeavour of once so great band. Its time to ask Mr. Mustaine for a crash course in real Thrash.

Still got it

I haven't paid attention to Metallica since Load. When I heard they were releasing "hardwired" I didn't pay too much attention, till the rumours of their resurrection started as whispers then became war drums.

The comparisons to "justice" are there for all to hear, and I'm surprised they've still got it in them . Catchy and heavy as hell, this isn't as dark as justice but stands on its own.

If you've ever given up on Metallica this will make you start believing again

A great comeback for master of Metal

No intruduction is needed for Metallica, plenty of great albums at their career and thats not an exception. Not one of their very best albums but a fresh breath for sure with some really great songs. Possibly their best work after Black Album.
Got the red vinyls and they look awesome too.
